Session #11 - The Jesus Question (Part #2)

 I - Who is Jesus?
* In our last session, we discussed who do people say Jesus is and who do YOU say He is. As discussed, people have different answers to this question. But what is undeniable is that all the world has heard the name of Jesus!
* Also in our last session - we discussed what is sin, and how it can hurt us and others. We also discussed how sin can prevent us from being genuinely happy - which is what ultimately God wants for us!

II - "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life" - John 14: 5-7

* It can feel very difficult - or even impossible - to live the way Jesus asks us to live. Why do you think that is?
* We do have examples of people that have lived their life this way and in turn, show us the way = these are the saints.
* But before you roll your eyes and say "oh, well the saints are perfect", this is simply NOT true! Saints were people like you and I but they just never gave up on trying to live the way Jesus calls us to live. Their walk was very difficult - but they learned how to rely on something very important: God's grace!

III -  What is Grace?
* Grace is a gift that God gives us and allows us to get through the challenges of every day life. As you can see, we can't avoid difficult moments or temptations in our lives; BUT - we can get through them with this amazing gift of GRACE.

IV - We have an invitation waiting!
* Every day, Jesus extends a loving invitation: "Will you follow me?"
* This invitation can take us a while to answer. We may not be ready to say yes. We may not want to say yes. BUT - always know that Jesus will always ask.

HOMEWORK (Due 1/16/22)
1 - What is an area in your life that you feel you need more help with? Why?
2 - In the Gospel of Luke, Chapter 18 (verses 18-23), Jesus gives us some points about what it means to follow him. Please read this passage and answer the following:
    - What do you think about what Jesus tells the young man to do in order to follow him?
    - What would YOU do in a similar situation? Why?
