Session #10 - The Jesus Question (Part #1)

I - Who do YOU say Jesus is?
    * What do you know about him?
    * When was the first time you heard about him?
    * Would you admit that you know who he is to someone else?

II - Who is Jesus?

There is no denying this one FACT: there is no one in this world that can't say they have never heard of Jesus!

Jesus came down to us for one simple reason - the world needed saving! He came down for YOU and ME!

III -  How did the world get to be a mess?

* What is sin? They are the actions/words/thoughts that build walls between us and God.
* At the beginning of Mass, we pray the "Penitential Act". During this time, we pray:

 * Sin and evil are REAL - we have the capacity to do tremendous amount of good. But we also have the capacity to cause tremendous evil through the things that we do and/or how we act.
    - What examples can you think of regarding the good you can do?
    - What examples can you think of regarding the evil you can cause?

* We have a long history of turning away from God, offending God, and rejecting his goodness - this is where Jesus enters the story of the world, and usually, enters the story of our lives.
    - Jesus came to show us the best way to live.
        * What do you think is meant by this? A couple of sessions ago, we talked about God's desire for us to be genuinely and PERMANENTLY happy. But - what does that look like?
        * What are some things you would like to work on?
